LANGUAGE LAB
Spring Dales Senior Secondary School has launched a Language Lab using current technology. Our language lab provides practice in an entertaining and interactive way to acquire the four main language skills namely listening, speaking, reading and writing. It also allows students to reinforce material learned in classroom by putting them into practice through interactive activities. Our lab provides a very different experience from the traditional system of teaching and learning languages, offering more advanced features and functionaries. As language is practical, it inculcates self learning and teachers are able to monitor and access the progress of the students.
Students learn much faster in this lab. It also allows diversity in the classroom as interactive courses, language labs are tailored to the individual needs of students.
It also fosters communication in the classroom. It also optimizes computer resources in our school. Through Language lab students get more involved to actively participate in language learning exercises to have more time to practice. The spoken language that is not possible in a traditional classroom environment. In this condition, language lab is very useful for the teachers and students to make classroom time more effectively and resulting in much better overall results.
Students should be able to control their own voice and playback the recordings and interact with each other individually or by groups or pairs. Students are able to work at their own place and students at different level are able to select their own activities from the server. Teachers and students use computers with language lab software for conducting language learning exercises and activities. They use headsets with microphone to communicate and conduct language learning exercises and activities.
Students have a media recorder player for listening and watching video as well as by recording they enhances their speech exercises. The teacher sends out present language learning or teacher lead activities. The teachers collect and store all recording activities and give assessment or test result including preset examination. PHYSICS LAB
Our lab is equipped with magnets, voltmeters, ammeters, magnifying lenses, screw gauge, slide callipers etc. Experiments are conducted to understand measurement, electricity, optics and magnetism. Under the guidance of qualified teachers and trained lab assistants. The experiments carried out with intricate details here remain forever in the young minds once imbibed.
The entire functioning is done as per standardised safety norms. Students understand the difference between theory and application. Physics laboratory helps a student in improvising their approach towards the subject. Experiments carried out In laboratories helps students in learning how to be patient and careful while taking observation.
Students are encouraged to give their investigation in the form of report where emphasis is laid on their writing and presentation skills. The students are given opportunities to participate in various fests and exhibitions. With the aide of cutting- edge technologies and solid research, we allow the students to explore the universe on their own terms.
BIOLOGY LAB
Biology is a natural science that includes the study of life and living organisms. Spring dales senior secondary school has well organised, spacious and well equipped biology laboratory with adequate specimens, various models, charts and prepared slides to give students extensive practical experience to supplement theory.
The biology laboratory is a hub of botanical and zoological learning equipped with test tubes, compound microscope, human skeleton and 3D models. We encourage students to enter the world of discovery and exploration so that they may become independent creative thinkers and learners. Students get a first hand learning experience by performing various experiments, activities and demonstrations on their own. This way we nurture budding scientists making them ponder on the lines of How and Why.
The biology laboratory is an important means of instruction in science skills, concepts and cognitive abilities for understanding the nature of science.
CHEMISTRY LAB
Chemistry laboratory of Spring dales Senior Secondary School provides a platform for students to nurture the budding scientist within them. Learning methods, facilities and the faculty here prove that the subject can be interesting and easy to learn.
Our chemistry lab is well equipped with chemicals and other apparatus to cater to the needs of all the students up to class 12th. It has some of the most accurate digital measuring instruments required for measuring chemicals. Students start using the chemistry lab from class 6 onwards in our school. They show great enthusiasm in using chemicals and perform innovative experiments. They improve their understanding of various chemical reactions and chemical processes.
The lab inculcates curiosity in students, it plays a very important role in developing a scientific temperament in our students. The lab has an excellent safety system with water and fire extinguisher. It is well ventilated as well as spacious.
It enables personal verification of important experimental facts, logical and reasoning skills that develops in this lab will go a long way in ensuring success in future of every student.
COMPUTER LAB
Information and communication technology (ICT) is an integral part of SPRING DALES curriculum. The school has a furnished computer lab with the most modern machines. In this age of computer technology, an early exposure to the basics of computer, prepares the children for the future and also helps them to overcome any inhibitions they might have towards computer usage. Our computer lab is adequately equipped for the same. Teachers assist children in seeking out information, creating multimedia content, collaborating on project work and presenting the knowledge gathered from multiple sources. From class 1st to 9th children are provided with the advance basic knowledge of computer. For class 11th and 12th we teach them the programming languages as IP. Computer education growing to be an essential part of modern day living, it has become the priority of the school to make students and teachers computer savvy. The school has more than 20 computers each to equip the staff and students. Special courses on animation, graphic designing etc. Apart from regular syllabus is imparted. Teachers are given special training in MS office to bring in more efficiency.
